How one team rewired their start to the year with a two day personal effectiveness training.
For the last six years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a family run business that’s genuinely invested in the development of their people. We started this year not with strategy, not with goals, and definitely not with a longer to-do list, but with a reset.
Before the two day training even began, there was already a buzz. Team members were looking forward to it, not out of obligation, but because their colleagues from previous years had told them how much it had impacted both their personal and professional lives. This was great to hear as the team were already looking forward to the training.
The two day training wasn’t about vision, KPIs, or goal setting. It wasn’t about pushing harder, performing better, or squeezing more output.
It was about the inner work that makes the outer work actually work.
So instead of adding more pressure, we slowed things down (this came up as one of the key takeaways) – using NLP to surface the deeper processing that impacts happiness at work, team performance, retention and wellbeing.
We explored how each person thinks, feels, and responds differently, and how the way they process thoughts and emotions (often unconsciously), directly impacts how they lead, collaborate, and contribute. Not just outwardly with others, but inwardly with themselves.
My partnership with Partingtons Holiday Parks began in 2018 unexpectedly, during a free mindfulness session I was running for a local hospice. The CEO of Partingtons, Andrea, was a long time supporter of the charity and happened to be helping with the refreshments that day. Curious, she asked if she could sit in on the session. Afterwards, she invited me to deliver a full 6-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course for her team.
That experience opened the door to something much deeper. Both Andrea and her co-CEO later attended my Foundation NLP course and the impact was, in their own words, life changing. Andrea has given me permission to share that it transformed some of her most treasured relationships, personally and professionally, and that she’ll always be grateful for what she learned through NLP.
This partnership has continued to grow, creating opportunities to deliver a wider range of training including sales development and leadership programmes tailored to their teams. What started with mindfulness has evolved into a long standing collaboration focused on personal growth, communication, and team effectiveness across the business.
The two day training is designed to build self-awareness, helping participants understand themselves more deeply and relate to others with greater clarity and empathy.
Using NLP as the foundation – a methodology for personal excellence, they learned practical, immediately applicable techniques such as anchoring, state management, mental rehearsal, and more.
The training is delivered in a practical, engaging way, allowing participants to experience the impact of those shifts in real time. It’s not just Psychological and behaviour change theory, it’s felt change.
That’s why one of the most common pieces of feedback was “I feel empowered in my own mind, and in my choices.”
To support others in creating their own reset, I’m hosted a free NLP experience – This is for anyone curious about how NLP can support your wellbeing, personal effectiveness, and clarity, and for coaches, leaders, business owners, and educators who are committed to helping others unlock their potential.
